some questions about vebub performance


hey ive got a few questions im going to buy a beetle soon and im wondering how hard it is to get any power out of these cars how do the internals react to forced air im looking to get 3-400 hp in one if its to hard ill probly use a subaru motor is the wrx motor a common swap and how about the transmissions what will they stand up to i can do any fab work needed for this project what model should i look for and what should i look out for it will be a daily driver fun car any help will be apreciated oh and if this isnt a verry active forum is there one were i can get these questions to more people thanks in advance

yes it is hard to get 3--400hp out of a 40 horse motor.
youll have to check out post on members rides too.as well as this one.

There has been many bugs fitted with subaru EJ18 EJ20 EJ20G EJ22 , to date Subaru would be the most used motor swap into Vw. It up to you what your looking for in a VW , some like bugs , other a bus or a wagon . Me I like the Notch back , all are cool rides & even better to see the reborn with a new power plant in the rear.

An Ej20 G ( turbo motor ) can be purchased around $1500.00 c/w Harness & ecu . A stock single side gear box will last but if you do skids it will fail after some time, up grades can be purchased.
