fuel plumbing
g'day guys
can anyone tell me how to plumb my fuel lines???
i have twin weber 40idf's and they have a confusing T-piece on the outside of the body of each one. obviously there is only one outlet from the fuel
pump and that needs to get to two carbies. my thought was that the fuel line goes from the pump to one of the T-pieces (feeds one carby) and then
straight around to the other T-piece on the other carb. does this make sense?? also there is an extra outlet on the T-piece which remains
unidentified.
i dont know what to do with the vac lines either (my bad) from the dizzy. once again; 1 line to 2 outlets. do i just T-piece it or what???
i would have put a photo up but i dont know how (been trying all afternoon)
a labelled photo would be the bees knees (that means you lee)
any help appreciated!!!

are they a matching L and R pair?
usually only one has a 2nd feed for the other carb just blank off the spare one in a safe manner
and is there a vac port on them?
u dont need to tee for the vac advance line, just to 1 carb is fine

i dont think it is a pair but they have been modified to
make a Frankenstein pair.....
On one of the carbs (left carb for future reference) the t piece has been converted to just an inlet (quite well and neatly) so i guess he gets the
fuel second.
both have vac ports - do i block the one im not using off??
On the right carb there are two in-line brass hose fittings and a smaller one coming diagonally out the bottom. where does this go??

i ended up putting one line from pump to RH carb with step up in-line piece (good idea to step up?)
a length around the back from RH carb to LH carb
all unused outlets were already blocked off except for one on the RH carb it comes out the bottom of the T piece towards flywheel at about
30degrees
as for the vac lines i just went the T piece to save blocking one vac port off - this should be aright yeah?

stepping up wont really make a difference and wouldnt be necessary. I dont think you'd be needing any more fuel than what a 6mm line can flow.
However if you need to do that to match the fittings, thats what you do. no dramas at all. Running a 1 inch hose wouldnt hurt.
I think you've done the right thing teeing the vacuum line. You'll get a better more uniform signal using both sides.
