Buying a Beetle in SA

Hi,

I'm in the market for my first Beetle! I hope it is appropriate for me to indicate that I'm looking for a Beetle rather than selling one.

Unfornately my previous car was involved in a car accident a couple of weeks ago and I'm now in the market for a new vehicle. I'm based in South Australia and am having some difficulty finding Beetles for sale in my price range. This will be my every day commute and not a project vehicle, so I'm looking for something that will get me to/from places without too many detours.

If anyone in S.A. (prefer Adelaide region) has a Beetle for sale (prefer 1970-75 or thereabouts) in good condition and around the $5-5.5K mark, could you please get in touch with me? I'm a university student, so I'm hoping for a reliable ride.

Have a good day!

Hi and welcome!!

For that price you should probably be able to get a good bug. You might have to wait a bit for the right one to come along, as there's not as many as there used to be, obviously.

I just did a quick search on the Trading Post and saw this one as a starting point/example http://www.tradingpost.com.au/Automotive/Used-Cars/Small-Medium-Family-Presti...

If you know anyone who knows about beetles that's an advantage. Get them to look at any potential purchase so they can check for rust and other common issues that beetles often have.

Good luck with the search
