New cam & cheap upgrades
Iv been looking at cheap engine modifications of late as Kev's money didnt go very far for me
Im running a 1600 dual port and iv recently fitted a new exhaust which has the car running nice.
My next step was going to be carbs but i really dont have the money at the moment. But soon will be ignitor electronic ignition.
Someone recommended a new cam as a good option and the engle w110 ($145 at CVD) sounds like it might be a good investment.
Firstly, why would this be better than the stock cam? (iv heard its a direct and suitable replacement), would the specs not have to be the same to fit
the same engine?
Second, is there anything that might be a better investment?
Im looking for small steps (less than $200 outlay in one go atm) with hopefully some added reliability and performance

yes the cam change will be diffently way more than $200 you have to pull and strip the engine to fit it incase you didnt know
and also if you do buy a cam you need bigger carbies to feed it and vise versa if you buy big carbies they work better with a bigger cam
If you not going to over haul the engine buy the bolt ons like electronic ignition , decent exhaust system, may be carbies and ratio rockers
that will get you better gains and can be used on bigger capacity engines at a later date if you can afford it
cheap and upgrades dont go together
