Should I baja the type 3 wagon ???
OK, I am now the proud owner of a pretty clean 1970 Type 3 wagon, two owners since new, kept serviced by VW. Interior is immaculate, red trim and full
hood lining, new carpets, starts and runs sweat.
I hate stock cars and dunno what to do with it.
What do you all think

why don't you just put it for sale. i'm sure you'll get a good price for it. it sounds immaculate. then you could buy a not as good one
to cut up, and if you are lucky, you may even have enough to get two to cut up. don't kill an original!!!

Go against what you'd normally do - just to keep yourself interested. As you've said, you like to chop things up - so this time don't -
left it as it is - slam it - and cruise it!:thumb

Be different be cool go the baja.
No one seems to have any probs distroying a T3 to fix there beetle why not
baja one. Back in the day some of my mates had them and would just lift the suspention put on a set of Desert Duelers
(spelling?) on sunrizer rims and go to all the out of the way surf spots. Full length
roof racks and beds in the back were the go.
I couldn't aford a T3 back then so Dato 1200 was my wepond of choise. If I got boged we would just lift it out.

What sort of dollars you looking at if you put it back on the road?
Looking at the poll though Baja's the go Brad.
If your worried about weight, you have a grinder and a drill don't you? Problem solved :-)

Baja the wagon
hey brad, i can`t believe you`d actually consider not chopping it up...
i had a tidy t3 wagon many years ago that i "bajaised" & it was a good thing.
the gearing was too tall for 31" tyres...but i know where you can get a country buggy back end for it...now that would be different...reset the
front bars & your in business. go on, chop it up, you know you want to... but leave the roof on, it`s winter time..

Dont hack the poor car up, no veedub should have that done to it. But i do like the idea of a baja type3. just raise the suspension up a bit, wide
wheels with big tyres and a few spotlights bolted to the front bumper. It would make a sweet car for going away camping.

Well after seeing some of the other Type 3 Wagons for sale I think I will have to leave it stock and put it back on the road as it is too good to turn
into a Beach Car that would never keep up with the buggy anyway.
Besides I have a KGhia arriving on Sunday and I am thinking that will be a much cooler baja project as it would be heaps more rare, photos will follow
soon.
I think it is a 61
