Nationals Supersprint results
http://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/results.cgi?23/05/2009.WAKE.S1
Provisional results. There is the odd car in the wrong class and the mini is not capable of a 1:06, so a few minor changes needed.
Dont know what it looked like from the outside, but from inside my head it was a hectic first session. After lunch was much more pleasant. I hope
everyone enjoyed it. I think it was a very well run day considering most of our officials were very inexperienced, and also a credit to the drivers
many of whom have never raced before. The rate of attrition was the only thing I was disappointed with in the end.
Sorry to those who had headphones on during my tirade. Nothing personal. Still not sure how keen I am to run another next year. There were plenty of
forces fighting against it. Maybe do it without CAMS.
I think Rudi was getting in some practice for the Bathurst 1000. How many laps did that poor thing do?

A big thanks to all that was behind the organising as it was the most fun you could possibly have in your road registered car and it was all legal.
After you get the hang of it you just want to get out there again I absolutely loved it, it's even better than drag racing.
FUN FUN FUN
I can't wait till the next one.
If I can do it anyone can lol.

Hi
The committee thought about that, but in the end we didn't want to become homeless if the Wakefield insurance didn't cover our backsides.
It was an extra $1500 on top of the hire fee to go with CAMS.

Do you think Mr Penrose might add a few more corners to his racing now? He certainly knew every part of the tarmac at the fish hook corner Good onya Rodney!

i've just about finished putting in all the laptimes to a spreadsheet. Had enough for one night, i'm off to bed. Will finish off and double check
accuracy tomorrow. These will form the basis of official results.

U looked a little stressed at times Chris , but u needn't have, the whole day ran like clockwork & u & all your helpers should give yourself
a pat on the back.
In all honesty, it ran better than most supersprints that I have ever been to.
Well done mate, I'm still grinning!

Editing video takes a little more time than uploading stills. Will have a short clip online in the next day or so, with additional footage including
in-car with Steve Muller's Golf soon to follow.

Yeah sorry Jak, I had originally put your car in type 4 because I thought it had glass guards etc, but I had another thought. Before I move you, is
your car VW engined? because under 3J rules it needs to be.

god, it's all too hard, don't worry about it. u know very well it doesn't have a vw engine.
I'll just have to get a trailer & slicks for my daily driver so that I can run with sport sedan race cars.

Jak, I dont keep up with the spec of all cars on AVD. I honestly thought your car used to have a whale tail housing an intercooler. Maybe it never had
one, I dont know. So now that I see it doesnt have one I ask politely if you have gone back to a VW engine. I was a little busy, I didnt get around
the pits to check each car.
You're not alone by the way, there are a few others agrieved with their class. Unfortunately VW never made a 1916, so they have to go in a modified
class. end of story. I understand a daily driven very mild 1916 is not going to go out and compete with Mr Zanello. Cest la vie, such is life. Also
Engine swaps from other manufacturers or even the same manufacturer in differrnt configurations, are not allowed under 3J rules. Check out section
4.2. http://www.camsmanual.com.au/pdf/02_race/d_3rd_Category/RA29_Group_3J_Q209.pdf Now if I take every subaru powered VW out
of type 4 and put them in type 3, cars 82, 41, and 65 will crucify me.

Absolutely no worries at all Chris, I had no idea of the rules either (& it shows)
Still the best day I've ever had at the track, please do it again next year, even if u have to raise the entry fee, I'll still pay it. I'm sure it
will get bigger just like Warrick drags
