im looking for a beetle in fair/original condition, running ( if possible, no need to be registered/complete ) no later than 1967...i have seen some of
the beetles for sale in the forum also.If anyone knows of or has ...please let me know or pm me i guess..For some of the Vw i have seen on this forum
...boy they are nice ...

you should tell us what your budget is and it will help to decide on the choices. there was a few nice beetles for sale today that you could have
picked up...
my advice for now is dont rush into buying one.have a good look around and take them for a drive. they all drive differently.you can get some good
bargains if you look around, and if your in doubt dont buy it....its not fun buying one that you thinks nice but was blinded by inticipation then later
on you realy go over the car to you dissapointment....
good luck and welcome to AVD,your addiction has just started....peace..

Take some time to consider what model you want, oval window or pre 67 shape, also consider if you want 6 or 12 volts, as it will be a lot cheaper to
buy a car that has already been converted.

sgetty and Mrsmith
thank you for your great advice ...greatly appreciated..
I would like an OVAL window , but i know they are hard to come buy ...and if they do come across they are either to expensive to buy or they need to
be done up ...which i dont mind..but i would prefer something i can just get in and drive away and play with it ...
Oh....!!! and im a accessories NUTter ...LOL
i think i want a beetle that is no later then 1967 i prefer the more bubbly shaped. complete with engine , possible running does not need to be
registered and in fair condition ..
there is one for sale on the forum the 1963 black one ....he wants $4800 but at the moment i only have $2000 so by the time i get there the car would
have gone...but i havent pm'd him to ask if he would go lower in price ....saw the car at the VW Nationals over the wkend..
and i live a Bexley North - NSW near the airport.

Make sure then you have a mate or someone knowledgeable going with you to look at any cars, knowing how a good Beetle should drive and checking for
the tin worm. Last thing you want to end up with is someone's nightmare with rusted out pan or pillars.

Take silver up on his offer,it is very easy to buy something that looks good but in actual fact should have been scrapped. When i was looking for an
Superbug a few years ago we looked at about 20 cars in varying conditions and most of the sellers reckoned they were in great condition, about 18 of
these were basket cases and shouldn't have been registered. Good luck Les
