Best I have seen would be either Wolfmother or Grinspoon. Would LOVE to see The Butterfly Effect!

Seen AC/DC twice before, they are the only really big band I have been to. Seen a few Australian bands at the local venues back when we had bands play in the area (Hunters & Collectors as well as Hoodoo Gurus were a couple of the best, showing my age).

What day did you get tickets for? I'm going on the Saturday in Sydney.

Taking the family, my young bloke (5 & 1/2 yr old) ran around the lounge room squealling then fell on the floor crying he was that excited when I told him.

It was a golden moment that I will always remember.

Cheers

Brendan

I went and saw Billy Joel in Brisbane at the end of last year.
It was brilliant.
For an old man he still rocks out.

I've seen Billy Joel a few times in sydney but Alice Cooper is the one. We sat at the back in 2001 and still couldn't hear anything the next day. Got my tickets for his tour this year already. Can't wait

Havn't been to many concerts but the Foo Fighters rocked last year in Sydney!!

Motley Crue and Guns n Roses were pretty good back in the day too.

Always wanted to see AC/DC live...I have all their albums.

Billy Joel would be pretty cool too. Peace.

* Dragon played at my high school in 1976

* The Ted Mulry Gang in 1984

* The original Easybeats (yes even with Stevie Wright) in a reunion concert in 1985

* Dire Straits in 1988

* the Beach Boys at Narrabeen Rugby park in 1991, even though Brian Wilson was not with them. Carl has since died - it should have been Mike Love instead (dickhead)

* The Shadows (with Hank B Marvin) at least four or five times

best band with a stage show was pink floyd division bell tour auckland nz in the 90's damn it was good... best band without any gimmicks the foo fighters seen them 4 times on four different tours no BS just good old fashion ROCK!!!!
now having said this i did backstage security at a prominent venue for many years and ive seen ALOT of acts and these guys always made an impact go see them.
ACDC are right up there though definately in the top ten saw them many years ago and although i do remember it being a great concert.. well dont ask me for too many details if you know what i mean!

My first concert was Deep Purple when I was a teenager, many since then including AC-DC, Pink Floyd, The Kinks, Dire Straights, Jethro Tull, Kiss, Guru's (I used to to jam with Brad Shepard lead guitar), Robert Plant and later Page and Plant.

Without a doubt and by a country mile the best concert has been the Page/Plant tour. Closest I got to seeing Led Zep:fakesniff:

I saw led Zeppelin but without a doubt page/ plant concert was the best of the two. That indian Ensemble and the clarity of sound far better than the show I saw in 71. And it remains my best concert ever. Seen too many concerts to name all but INXS and the Church at Heathcote remain very memorable, as does Joe Jackson at the State Theatre.

I walked out of Joe Jackson and fell asleep during an Oil's concert......had been building drag motor prior ... too many late nights.

Seen Led Zep,Pink Floyd,Deep Purple, etc (I grew up in London don't forget) but the ones that still stand out were Uriah Heep (Heap?) for their stage show, Humble Pie for Steve Marriotts voice and Thin Lizzy just for the sheer fun . But the best for purely sentimental reasons and the sheer genius of the man was Eric Clapton a couple of years ago at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre when my son took me!!....Hey Bizarre I must be around the same age!!

I'm heading to WA to see ACDC after a freind bought me a ticket. I still have my denim jacket with ACDC patches and the angus style school jacket from my teens. I can barely get an arm into them these days

#1 for me is Hunters and Collectors. Not as big but very entertaining.

I cant split these because its been too long.
ACDC, midnight oil, the angels, rose tattoo, noiseworks possibly billy idol but that could be because it was my first concert way back in 87.

I last saw noiseworks 2 years ago on NYE. It was fantastic night even though I dont drink on NYE. They still have women thowing their bras on stage.... probably the same women that were doing it 15 years ago though.

Alanah Myles in the early 90's was the hottest concert I've been too. Glistening sweat on heaving chest, laid out on top of speaker stack... enjoyed it so much I went back the following night

Midnight Oil for me was the most passionate. Their Species Deceases tour at the Enmore was the best I'd seem them. Small venue, with the floorboards bouncing up and down at the front. Brilliant. Best musically would be Beck a couple of years ago at the Hordern. Started off with his slow stuff, and then opened up into his great flamboyant self.

MattBerry - my first ever concert was Deep Purple with my dad when I was about 5. Didn't really understand it then but do now.

Best Rock Show - Hard to say but highlights are

Primus - Sailing seas of cheese tour
Tool - lateralus tour
The Mars Volta - Big Day Out
Santana - Rainbow serpant
Secret Chiefs 3 - Latest Tour.

Jeez I actually forgot the very best one Serious moonlight tour David Bowie. There was actually a Full moon over the stage a the SCG, and being legally high on morphine after a bike incident helped as well

Amazeer you taking about Alanah Myles I remember seeing Fleetwood Mac I really like Stevie Nicks, she was so high, she kind of floated through every song had a long hippy dress with boots on she pulled the dress over her head at times. Mick Fleetwood was also smashed but I think he has admitted he was or maybe still is an alcoholic. Not the best concert but a lot of fun.
