the peel p50 didnt have reverse, it had a 3 speed 50cc motorbike engine, so if u got up into a tight spot, you would get out, life the back and spin it around. the funniest thing about the peel p50 is the fact that the made a peel p50 sports... lol it had bubble lights and looked like a jetsons car :dork:

The smallest road legal car that I'm aware of is the Rytecraft Scootacar from 1934. It was made by the British Motor Boat Manufacturing Co. of London. It is based on an electrically powered, tethered playground ride that was designed by Jack Shillin.

It looks like a Noddy car, has a 98cc Villiers engine, one speed gearing, one wheel drive, one wheel braking, no reverse, no suspension and a top speed of 15 (fifteen) mph.

It was about 6 feet long and about 3 feet wide and high.

It was made famous in the 1960s, when Jim Parkinson drove one with English registration number BUC 515, for 15,000 miles around the world!!!

Over the years and 1000 sales it was developed into a 250cc, 40mph car with lights and reverse.

hard to see..... as there is nothing in the background of the pic to give you contrast of its size.... certainly does look bigger though, just from driver compartment and stuff

Here's a pic taken in 1935 with something to compare size, and it also is a registered one with lights ect.

The man driving is George Formby (look him up). He was not a large man, having been a jockey in his early life.
