shattered dreams
My daughter was pregame entertainment at the Dragons v Panthers game last night. All the local schools put in a 6 x 80m relay team. Shellharbour had a
good team. Totally up there with a good chance of taking it out going on district athletics results. My daughter was 3rd change. Not having a sporting
bone in my body, this was my big chance of glory.
Started out great. Probably in about 3rd at first change, neck and neck at the second change and all down the 3rd leg. And then, shamefully my kid
drops the ball. I forgot all about the fact that I was supposed to be taking a photo.
To top it off it was raining and cold and the dragons won. Legitimately for a change. Still dont know how fat arsed Wendall is fit enough to play in
the top grade let alone score twice.
that has nothing to do with VW's but I'm bored and its too much to write in facebook.

Don't let your daughter catch you saying 'shamefully my kid drops the ball'.
Happened to me long ago back in the day at a National title final no less. Character defining moments.
My team went on the win 3 State titles, 1 Australian title and came 3rd in the First World Surf Life Saving Championships back in 1980 in an open
event and we were 16 to 18 years of age. Beach Relay events.
At least she was there having a go. Good on her and her team.

rest assured I would never say that to her.
She's a good kid, she'll try anything. Its hard holding her back. So far this year theres 3 different types of dancing with a dance school, little
a's, Kembla Joggers, summer and winter club netball, then during school there's touch footy, netball, soccer, hockey, cross country, dancing and
debating. Only thing she's not allowed to do is tackle footy. Academically she does all those UNSW competitions and has sat the slective high school
exams.
So she's not short on confidence, I dont think it would matter to her if I bagged her about it. Not that I would. She's almost 11, going on 16.
She'd just look at me as if I was a stupid old man anyway.

Anyway, she bags the hell out of me to my face for my performances at Kembla Joggers. and my failing eyesight. My greying hair.

My youngest boy, now 14 almost calls me old man everyday and worst thing is in the last 2 weeks he was over taken me in the height stakes.
I was already vertically challenged but not much fun now looking up to them all.
