Firewall

just a few questions...

Im going to have my car repainted (re-end only, and by painted, I mean primer... YEAH!) and Im wondering if i really need the fire wall padding - the foam stuff. Must it be there??

Also, the chrome fire wall kits that nearly everywhere sell, How are they attached?? And, do you put padding behind them.??

Appreciate it! :)

it doesnt "have" to be there but it does help with noise and heat

some tore the shit out of mine in my old 71 SBug doing rust repairs on the inner gaurd and the fan had tried to suck it in so i took it out
was fine around town but noise level on the highway was painfull

so ive left it in DUB74L and just put the louvered firewall over the top with a couple of self drillers thro the firewall
yet my subs still rattle the bloody thing
