bike n golf wreck - warning graphic

hey all..
a friend sent me this info..
if you ride a bike pls take note..

A picture is worth a thousand words..

The Honda rider was travelling at such a 'very high speed', his reaction time was not sufficient enough to avoid this accident. Swedish Police estimate a speed of ~250 KM/h (155 mph) before the bike hit the slow moving car side-on at an intersection. At that speed, they predicted that the rider's reaction time (once the vehicle came into view) wasn't sufficient enough for him to even apply the brakes. The car had two passengers and the bike rider was found INSIDE the car with them. The Volkswagen actually flipped over from the force of impact and landed 10 feet from where the collision took place.

All three involved (two in car and rider) were killed instantly. This graphic demonstration was placed at the Stockholm Motorcycle Fair by the Swedish Police and Road Safety Department. The sign above the display also noted that the rider had only recently obtained his license.

At 250 KM (155 mph) the operator is travelling at 227 feet per second. With normal reaction time to SEE-DECIDE-REACT of 1.6 seconds the above operator would have travelled over 363 feet while making a decision on what actions to take. In this incident the Swedish police indicate that no actions were taken.
In other words, they didn't even have time to say, 'Oh, ####!'

I've seen this a few years ago now, pretty messed up. So if you want to do a high speed run make sure there are no side streets such as a freeway, drag strip would be the best though not that i condone this sort of behaviour.

Yeah I get this from the missus all the time. Everytime she hears about someone dying on a bike she says "see". But if you don't ride like a tool then you're chances on making the trip alive are a lot higher. I know it will only take one other car driver to have a lapse in concentration to knock me over but that's what you have to be aware of and anticipate what everyone's doing.

A little while ago there were five people killed on their bikes in one weekend. Pretty sure they were all around SE QLD area. Four of those were the ones at fault due to excessive speed. People need to learn their limits and even ride under them.

I saw something similar on the news a few years back. It showed a bike inside a taxi, indicators on the bike were still flashing. I think they said it was in Adeliade.

Its a hoax. just a demonstration wreck. If it were real it would smell of rotting flesh that would not be removable. There is no damage whatsoever from a porta life or other hydraulic rescue gear. Still a very sobering pic for all. m

Take a good look at the door sill and the windscreen pillars. They have cut the car in half to get the bodies out.

just what i was about to say, clearly they have had to cut the car apart to remove the people and then reassembled the wreck as a display.

Obviously they would have steam cleaned it all and used some sort of enzyme cleaner to get out any remains and decontaminate it.

That is really nasty. But davo is spot on, ride like an idiot with no protective gear and your just asking for trouble. But sadly being on a motorcycle and doing the right thing can potentially make you dead right too. These pictures as horrific as they are, can be a good reminder. Good thread h.
