I've heard that in conventional doorslammer chassis building, the drivers seat is best placed on the LHS of the car.... Something to do with weight transfer under launch conditions???...
Obviously this is in a front engined car with a rear drive config, but I wonder if it be true, would the principle apply to VW's?

chassis had pretech today, only a few bars to add and the rest is all ok, body has had weight cut out and nearly ready to go back on and start adding brackets for the dry sump tank and fuel system.

westi's front end is still here in my shed, i used the arms out of it but the beam is under my bench. Give us a call stock and i will tell you what i've been doing

Thanks to Aarons, help all the bars that needed doing after pretech have been done, the shifter has been tacked into postion today so just needs final welding
and need to mount the dry sump tank in the rear than the body can go back on and start putting all the tin back in. Still need to get the steering rack mounted
and new steering arms made up and then its time for wiring and engine..

i got a fair bit done this weekend, currently trying to remove the wiring harness for the injection from the fastback, what a nightmare. Hopefully i will have it out this week some time and then i will have to modify the body to fit my intake manifold.The exhaust system also needs a few changes to clear the chassis under the gearbox and raise the turbo higher for oil drain back.

stanley, yeah the scoop will stay, i will be fitting the turbo intake into it and i think it looks cool. Im currently wiring up the car, i have pulled all the gear from the fastback now so its looking pretty said. Just wish i had some more money to try for warwick but will see how i go.
