Stinky Girl
After getting our blue 68 we felt over the moon to be proud Beetle owners once again, but after the honeymoon period was over we knew what we really
wanted was a pre-67 with the longer bonnet etc.
My original plan was to change the panels as and when we had the money, but after a chance hook up on the internetz we ended up doing a px for this
lovely 67.
Not planning on doing much to her to be honest...just tidying her up.
We're over the moon with her
Side mirror was just to get her through roadworthy. If anyones got a chrome one that mounts on the top door hinge (cheap if poss!) let me know!

I can't believe you had problems getting the roadworthy with just one mirror, it might be different in VIC, but for the first 3 years of having my
bug (ie on my L's and P plates) I never had any side mirrors because it didn't come with any!! and I never had a problem with getting roadworthy

Ah...
To be fair though the guy we got the bug off put the roadworthy on it for us.
Might have gone through without i guess...but as i was chomping at the bit to get the car he probably thought it would save time and hassle....better
safe than sorry kinda thing

Thanks
I'm not a stranger to the older ones, as i also owned a 67 in the UK.
I was surprised that the Aussie ones have differences though...
The heater controls on mine in the UK were on the usual up / down knobs next to the handbrake, whereas on this one there's a turn wheel thing next to
the gearstick!
Main beam / dipped headlights on the UK ones were on the indicator stalk....here it's a switch on the floor next to the clutch!
Love the little differences and quirks between the different regions! Makes them that little bit more special
