Barney progress - nother coupla pics
Didn't have a lot of time this weekend but went out in the dark and cold (when the fam had all snuggled up in the nice warm house and gone to
sleep) and fitted the passengers side front floor.....didn't regret my lack of a beer fridge and was considering a cappucino machine instead
Also had bit of a tool around and fitted a set of 54 bubble tailights. Got these from a guy I'd helped out a bit for a fantastic price. Glad to
say he restored my faith in the humans in the hobby after a bit of recent battering 8-) .....
Ah barnster!
Might leave barney to rest for a little while now. I hope to take delivery of a splittie twin cab in the next coupla weeks - it needs some repair but
I'm going to have it driving on the road in a year if it kills me.......

Can't quite remember where I was with the updates on the barnster so here we go - more turning, chopping and burning!
Cut barney's passenger side dogleg off...bit of rust in the lower front pillar that was masked by the dogleg!
B pillar was also lookin a bit average in spots!
Repaired the lower front pillar (had to fab some of the inner section as well...)
And repaired the B pillar too....
Fitted a new dogleg. This is one fo the brazilian repops that I git from Guy Harding. They are a bit squirrely as they came and I can see why people
say they are difficult to fit (Guy warned me it would take some time...). But if if you unpick the top edge and refold it they straighten up quite
nicely - beats making em from scratch that's for sure!
I do have to fab a wider lip (early buses had wider lips) but the fit ending up being pretty good and the door gaps even and consistent
The top hat section I bought in the US about 2 months ago now finally arrived (and I thought it would be easier and quicker to buy em than make em!).
So redid the crusty ends I cut out. This shot is from behind the cab partition.
Finally closed the front wheel well.
Then had to repair the bottom edge of the seat pedestal (where it meets the front floor). These 'little' repairs with the complex shapes
take more time than they should.....looking from the top
And looking from behind
And finally, an impression of a barney front floor half by the artist formerly known as splitbusasutralia..
