The Meyers Manx SR is finally registered
It's taken much too long for the happy day to arrive, but here it is at last.
It has a 1968 semiauto pan, for the BJ and big disc brake front end, and IRS and big drum brake rear end, a Subaru EJ20 naturally aspirated engine, a
standard 1600 Beetle gearbox and Globe Bathurst wheels.
It weighs 850 kilograms, as it has a complete roll cage hidden inside the body work, including heavy side intrusion bars inside the doors.
I goes like stink. What with the new hoon laws over here I'll need to restrain myself, or it will be impounded.

Thanks for your comments.
Yes, Wes. It's a pity that the muffler is hanging down in the back like that but there really is nowhere else to put it. It isn't lower than the
sump. When I get the car painted, I'm going to powdercoat the stainless steel screen over it black, so it will be a bit less obvious.
Pete. If you look at the picture of the engine you will see that I have fitted two small custom made radiators with electric blower fans, in the wells
to the sides. So far so good, but the real test will be how well they work in a traffic jam on a hot summer's day.
I'm considering fitting some sheet metal ducting to take the hot air from the radiators, down away from the engine area to keep things cooler. I'm
now lurking in cooking shops to find a couple of metal baking trays that will be suitable, as pop riveted and folded sheet steel would look really
tacky.
The radiators are in series, with the left radiator the first.
As a matter of interest the silver box to the left of the engine houses the computer with the smaller box containing a computer cooling fan, which has
its inlet up inside the roof body work, to ensure that it is out of the way of water spray.
There was nowhere else to put it.
The computer box is double insulated and again the ultimate test will be if the computer gets too hot on a hot summer's day
