#@%$^#@ 65 beetle windows

Does anybody know somebody I can get to put the glass back in a 65 beetle. It has the stainless trim. The guys who sprayed it can't get them in, nor could their glass guy...they are still looking at each other!

the chrome trim must go in the rubbers first, its time consuming but not hard. then they go in like normal windows
ps. the glass guy, isn't.

Keeping it real !

It could be - did you order '65 rubbers from the USA? They won't fit Aussie '65s (which are the same as '64 and earlier). US '65s have bigger windows.

I've never done it as I've always thought it was too hard
lol.. but My Son has done a few and said its fairly easy...
even the aluminium ones... which bend very easily..

Now you know why there are so many cars without the trim around the windows... called the cal look...
but its really because they couldn't put the strips in... lol

If the rubbers were early ones....
they would be too small....
and late model ones would be too large... lol

most do look wrong to Me too....
and they are the non trim rubbers....

most probably are the correct ones...
corners are a challenge...

the US made rubbers I used could be used any way...
there was no top or bottom...
apart from the joins in the rubber...

Lee, all Australian Beetles from 1958 to 1967 all have the same body shell, and the same windows and rubbers. If you order, say, '63 or '64 US-spec rubbers you will be fine.

Only the '57 and earlier oval window Beetles had smaller front and back windows, but even then the side windows are the same as '58-'67.

'68 and later 12-volt Beetles are bigger on all windows.
