[WTB - SA] Working VW up to $2500 (edit price)
My current car (a Verada) Has too many problems for me to fix in the time I have off, so I am looking to buy a VW prefer water cooled but would settle
for a Golf. Budget is $3000 and that's pulling in favours. If anyone has or knows of one please let me know. I would even consider a car yard as that
way I should be able to offload the Verada. The car must be in running order as I need a daily driver. Please help me out or the wife will make me buy
something unclean like a laser or something.

There's this '76 Golf (water cooled) http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/newforum/upload/showthread.php?t=30380
I can't personally vouch for this car, but I know they are very fun to drive and getting rare. Pretty cool too.
Don't quote me, but I would say the asking price would be less than $3000, maybe less than $2000.

Thanks for the help. Ne reply yet, but keeping my fingers crossed. Having a look at a low Km Renault RT 19 tonight. Although the dog and lemon guide
gives it a real bad review. Will need a car asap and I realy do not want to be driving "just another car" So still activly looking for a VW

Thought as much. The guy hasn't logged on to the forum for about 5 days, so I was hoping the PM would get through quicker. Seems like he's keen to
sell though.
Don't know how much faith to put in the Dog and Lemon guide as it supposedly gave the MK2 a bad rating too.
At least a Renault is not a Hyundai!
Cheers.

The wife was working today (She works in the building next to mine) She came over with a list of cars she wanted me to look at. They phisically heard
me scream when I looked at the list. Mazda 121, Hyundai's and a holden barina!!! FFS is the woman trying to kill me. Her boss rang a liitle while
later and it appears they were both taking the piss. I have so far not found any cars the Dog and Lemon actually like.

Hahaha! That's kind of funny. They know how to wind you up. Best of luck with the car search - I'll let you know if there's any movement with the
golf.

The guy that writes the Dog and Lemon guide is a tool bag! Anything European will cop a bagging from him.
Quirky is good and good on you for thinking outside the square. Just be sure to get an independent check by a specialist and you should be right.
Good luck on the hunt and burn the dog and lemon guide.

Had to edit the price as I dropped my glasses DOH, then Daughters Guide camp, Kindy fees for son and scrapbooking supplies for the wife eroded $500
just like that.
I am willing to buy a car has easy repairs, such as carby, electrics, lights and as long as it doesn't have major rust faded paint is ok
