| WTB: More Power

I'm looking to put a different motor in my LWB MaxFX Buggy. The current motor is a 1600TP but I suspect that it inhaled some Stradbroke Island sand
late last year when the air filter came apart.

I would prefer something a little more powerful.

 Any ideas?

There was a private sign at the recent Klubfest meet advertising rebuilt performance engines. Does anyone know whose sign that was?

Thanks for any help or advice.

 Steve

 Pratt & Whitney R-4360.
4300 hp out of the box, although it might be hard to make it fit.

 Must be the helpful hour

 Hey Steve

I am assuming you are based in brisbane?
In Brisbane there are a number of VW shops, VW and Volvo Centre (ask for Ted), Leons Motors (ask for Leon lol) or if you are Nth coast or even in
Brisbane then give Matt Berry a call. (0408704662)
A VW performance engine (basic) will start at around $6k and head upwards from there. Other options that off roaders go for are some subaru
perversions (oops conversions),

 Thanks Marcus

I'll keep your suggestions in mind. Much like everyone else I'm a bit budget conscious (and have difficulty convincing my financial controller of
the need for better toys).

I am hoping that someone will say "I've got just the thing that you're looking for in my shed".

It doesn't have to be a monster - just anything that might be an improvement on a standard VW1600.

 Thanks again for the leads.

Steve , I have several different engine combinations that may suit your needs . How fast you want to go will depend on your budget, however I have new
1916cc engines on the shelf priced @ around $ 3970 . For this you will get a 100% brand new engine , built from valve cover to valve cover and from
front pulley to flywheel . These engines have low compression @ 8.3 and have stainless steel 40mm x 35.5mm valved heads . I also have several other
engines that are built using used/reco parts that will save you money if you want to go that way , ROD , 02-42729920 .
