boss dear, i made sure i turned it off before i left, cant afford to waste gas like that
steve - were they knocked back because of the dual brake MC's or something else? if you like i can send you the pics of these pedals if your chasing
a hydraulic clutch setup, would probably be worth updating on GL thread too i guess, still have all the measurements/drawings in a notepad if your
keen

Hi Dave
The engineer didn't want non OEM masters and adjustable bias is a big no as well.
I'm doing the same setup as you, moving the stock master over and fitting a clutch master next to it.
The drawing would be useful, my body is still on the pan now so its awkward to work on.
I have an incentive now to get mine on the road, NSW rules may change soon and my engineer will retire when they do.

notice something missing??? the creeper! the engine/box are now attached to the pan!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and another...
its gotta drop about 100mm in the back yet, believe it or not that keeps it above legal still & the sump will be 40mm higher up than the stand
thats on it now 
water/oil thingo has to say bye bye but thats no major issue, departure angle shouldnt be an issue either and theres room to squeeze in an exhaust
thats more than 3ft long after all, but only just, lots of metal work now....
or perhaps put all the stuff back on the engine with new seals etc & fire it up..... maybe

ian - blue thing? as in the oil filter bit or the weird bits of RHS? the rhs was to sit it flat on the garage floor for awhile attached to the gearbox
to work out heights of things, if you havent noticed the sump on an EJ isnt exactly flat/stable enough for it to sit on, so i just slapped that
together, worked a treat
spose i need to replace it with a shortened sump now
Al, its going to need alot of TLC & the odd patch work before anyone sees some nice/clean angles, rear pillars for a start ( got a tig welder i
can borrow for a few hrs??? ) oh and rebuilding the body around the
engine so it all fits nicely and protected from the road/wheels and possibly the odd bit of delaminating tyres
simon, bora i wouldnt know for sure, but your beetle wouldnt stand a chance anymore :P i smell a conversion coming on hehe, sell u my leftovers &
some drawings/sketches & such to help out.
steve - still looking for the right note pad, its amongst legitimate work stuff somewhere, may have a spare undrilled section somewhere too, gotta
rummage through the toolbox at work & the bits & peices at the mothers and find where everything has ended up at the new place

steve, still havent found the drawings or the unfolded/drilled section yet, not impressed!
and for the conversion guru's...
can i delete that line from the pump to the cooler & into the block completely without any adverse effects or not, and is that the way it would
flow or is it the other way around?

as for the other end...
weld on fitting from tank to this....
lil bit of other stuff after that...
used hard fittings to get the rough idea, might change some parts to braided hose soon, still gotta fit water lines in there somehow
may also change the tank to pump section to a big dia rubber hose just so its easy to get on/off, not much room for swinging spanners to tighten
everything up in there unfortunately bt it goes with the whale into sardine tin theme i guess.
oh, can anyone tell me, how hot will the 044 get when running? it will be insulated from coolant lines & radiator heat but i wouldnt mind slapping
my battery in a box just ahead of it where the spare wheel was, ill bit of sheetmetal work needs to be donee here... should be solid & look neat

weld on fitting for tank to pump & return line to tank done, gotta love the original drain hole & body hole to match, mirrorred on the other
side for the return fitting, now just need a tiny lenght braided hose so i can do the fittings on everything up tight while its all in the car, idea
being to leave the hose lenghts on the tank as its put in, then attach the rest thru what was the rear panel of the wheel well, all to be re sheeted
in a more suitable fashion soon pics later - hurt my neck now gettting some tlc from boss lady

Looking good. I had a tap on the tank outlet on my old bug and I've put one on Davids bug as well. It make it much easier when you pull the tank out
to be able to turn the flow off.

pics as promised, welds arent sexy enough to boast about so your not seeing them 
anyway for the purpose of the pics theres an extension peice from the weld-ons down to the 90deg & 45deg fittings, will be replaced with about
2-3" of braid on the pump side & the return will be straight from tank to hardline nut
the other part of the fuel tank will be in tank baffle, will be fun to do with the level sender still needing to be put in/taken out, grey matter
nutting that one out to work out the best option before i cut anything
steve, thought about doing that but would need to cut out all of the flat area where the steering column goes through, that & theres not a whole
lot of room to fit anymore, water lines are snaking between the steering box & fuel line & fuel line/idler on the otherside obviously, leaves
enough room to throw a battery box infront of the pump and still leave enough room to let air escape out from the radiator wonder if i could fit a weeks shopping and a spare tyre too

-oh, anyone got a suggestion for flaring fuel lines, the stuff i have from trade tools just wont cut the mustard, tube cutter is awesome, flaring -
not a chance- would love suggestions so i can finish my fuel lines...

Well the way i did it was study japanese while on breaks at work... That lasted till about chapter 4 then asked everyone i knew if they spoke
japanese, then asked the importer i got my engine from, then asked boss lady to do it for me thru a guy that imports cars from japan, he have her an
email of a guy who knew a guy that lived in japan, osaka i believe, then they spoke & organised it all, in short a lot of effort + finders fees
& favours. Oh not to mention the 3 yes 3friends that went to japan this year! Oh its a suprise, i dont know they are coming lol. Ill let u know
what quality is like, mite be getting more stuff soon& mite be able to help u out :-)

Look forward to hearing, the other option I'm considering is the side blinkers from a current model statesman to go where the trim currently sits,
and just keep the mirrors simple

H - tireless is about right, 1000s of times ive been tempted to throw the lot in the bin, but when i have a free few hours i try to make some

If it's costing anything like most restos/modifications then you'll need to be cloned twice, so that there's three of you:
* One to work on the car
* One to earn the money to live
* One to earn the money to pay for the car parts you buy.

ahh yes, salary jobs- couldnt think of anything worse myself
and kids, yeah the theory i started with was either do something crazy now or later, figured if i did it pre-family etc then at least i SHOULD be able
to enjoy it into the later, wont be able to do something this silly again till im retired, thats another 40+yrs or big lotto winnings away,
considering i dont gamble much... heres to hopefully finishing the car before i retire
oh craig nice choice on the wheel, looks like mine though that
will probably be changing soonish hehe
