Hi Craig. Yes, I do know the latches are different. I have made a latch for a friends '68 that runs an earlier deck lid and it works fine, plus, mine is going to be a volksrod so the rear valance wont be there. I've sorted out a floating mount, same as the front.

So have you found those widened wheels yet??? : )

Thanks for letting me know about these differences in models, as this is my first veedub, so my knowledge isn't great.

Do you know of a better sway away style beam adjuster than the ones from Indian Automotive for $48 each?

Thanks again for your help.

I think I have what you need, I'll have a look tomorrow. From memory it has a little bit of rust on the bottom, but fixable.
I'm heading up to Cooroy on Sunday morning

Hi again Craig. How much do you charge for your adjusters? I need a pair for me and a pair for my friends 68 as I'm doing him a narrowed '70 beam and want to ad the adjusters for him too. He runs drop spindles and has 165 tyres, so they rub. I took his front wheels apart and changed the offset but they still hit when steering. I figure narrowing his beam is the best fix, so might as well make it lower at the same time : ) Found those wheels yet?

Hi 11CAB. My numbers are 07 5441 5991 and 0423 818180 if there is any chance I can meet with you on sunday and maybe pick up that decklid???? I'm just out of nambour so can meet you anywhere that suits, if that suits. Thanks for all your help guys, this really is an awesome community. I wish I had been infected with the VW bug years ago.

Tim J.
