Getting close now. Who's in the year?
I've done serious training this year. I've even restricted myself to 2 std drinks per session(mostly), I've dumped about 7kg of lard... If I cant
get into mid 70's this year I never will. Got so much to catch up on. Looking forward to drinking several schooners after the race, and buying 1/2
dozen sausage sandwiches, going to the fish n chippy and buying 2 of everything, then going to the bakery and buying 2 of everything, going to kfc and
buying 2 of everything... Its not going to be pretty.

Interesting run this year, my km times were all over the place. I was aiming for 75mins to get into SH1 next year. Got to the 4km mark and felt good.
Then my left calf started to cramp up. I just kept running, damn it hurt, paying for it now. Heartbreak Hill stretched it good so was reasonably OK
after that. Then I had brain fade and was calculating how fast I had to go based on 11km, not 14. So the last 3 km I really had to push hard and
finished unofficially at 74:56 which is 9 minutes quicker than last year. I'll be absolutely spewing if I miss out on an SH1 start by a second or 2.
Its pretty amazing how far willpower can get you. My mate that I went up with was trying to break 60mins and he thinks he ran 59:50 something,
The 14km run was slightly easier than the 12 hour drink session that followed at Ravesi's. Expensive @$8/beer. Went in with about $150, came out with
about $20. Interesting observation was that all the people who wore their race numbers and medals all night were back of the packers. Had a fantastic
night, until it was time to go and discovered that my mates bag had been stolen. We stayed just down the street from you at Coogee Sands. Majorly
