my first type 3
After months of searching for a 60's square I saw this on ebay and saw some potential so I took a risk and purchased it before seeing it. I drove 10
hours to pick it up so there was no way i was leaving empty handed. I then turned around and drove 10 hours back to Geelong where it's now in the
capable hands of Gary, Gary and Ian at Wolfsburg for some hole filling, bump-stop restoring, seat swapping, love care and attention.
Hopefully it should be ready for the road this weekend, can't wait.
Only plan so far is to put some beauty rings on the wheels, clear front indicators and some fancy speakers pods, kick panels from George at
Volkommen...oh and maybe a roof rack...and some over riders if I can find then...and ....and ...and

Nice score!
I set up a photobucket account and linked them from there. You'll see it's pretty straight forward...
Cheers! Toby

it runs, that's about all I know. From picking it up it went straight to the shop for body work so I'm yet to give it a good look and overhaul.
There's no smoke or major rattles/misfire so I'm hopeful.

I nearly bought that one. I came cash in hand, trailer in tow, but decided put the money into a Europe trip instead. I've never seen a better
original patina on a late square, you've got a neat car there. Well done. Lose those shit toyota/mazda seats welded into the front, don't change the
colour and give it some white walls.
Oh yeah, I'm pretty sure thats a beetle 1600 block, converted to a pancake config. The dipstick is in the wrong spot for an original type 3 block.
That car will be too cool for words.
Life's short, drive tastefully.
