Dunno much about air cooled run in, but when I worked at mazda, we ran in new engines with rotary oil, the stuff they designed for RX8's, synthetic stuff.
Its really thin and would most likely burn pretty fast in a air cooled engine... But, thats what we used when we put a new engine in a car, and im told that is also what comes in all new mazda's, and changed at 10 000 to mobil S.
