Hello people,
Going to look at an automatic type 3 soon, are these good, bad or indifferent. can the auto's be changed easily to a manual or are there too many differences. Are the auto's any good. Any info much appreciated. cheers:no:

[size=5]Hi
type 3s did NOT have the semi automatic as used in the beetle. they had a true automatic gearbox etc....
I've never heard of anyone having problems with them...
not sure how rare they are.....
I've heard of two people putting the type 3 fully auto into a beetle...
which is a BIG job....
I'd go for it..
cheers

IMO - if you want an auto, get the auto. if you want the manual, buy the manual. Don't bother converting, its a waste of time really.

what lee said is right.
