moral dilema?
hey guys and girls let me tell you all a story and let me know what your opinion is, here goes on the 14th of july this year i put a deposit on the
rebuil of a very mild 1835 motor, it needed new bearings an oil pump and a cam shaft, now i paid 600 cash that day however everytime i have contacted
them since they have been waiting for parts, is two and a half months to long to wait and should i ask for my money back or now that iv paid a deposit
down should i suck it up and wait for it?

This is just the reason why we should learn to do things like this ourself. It isn't necessary to have many specialised tools to do the job. By
all means, send the heads away if they need some sort of reconditioning and the case bored if needed but the rest of it can be done at home on the
back lawn if you haven't a workshop (weather permitting!!!)
I know this doesn't answer your initial question but you've got two months more patience than I have.

In my experience with parts coming in from Germany, 1 - 2 weeks, I don't see why they would take any longer from any where else in the world.
Do you have a receipt?
You need to find out exactly what sort of time frame these people are putting on this,
At least it sounds like you are being strung out, for whatever reason they may have.
Its time to sort it out one way or the other,
I want the work done or my money back,

Kind Regards

warning bells should have gone off about 6 weeks ago. Sounds like a stall and take deal. Not Good.

You stire the pot and make enough noise and you get the job done real quick, then in a few months you find out that they didn't do the job the way
they should have because they suddenly had to rush or they decided to get back at you for making a noise and then it's too late. get your money back
and start afresh with someone else I say.
I dream of a day when a chicken can cross a road without being asked for it's motive!

No good asking us .
You should be asking the bloke that's doing the job.
If you are unhappy I imagine that you would not get any more work done there.

Good to hear Paul. It is a shame that a local business will treat you this way...

I got a new TV doing that. Bought a tv that had to be fixed 3 times in six months, the third time they wanted me to pay for it. The whole shop new
what I thought about that idea and I got a replacement tv instead. Dont think I would have been that lucky if the shop was empty.
