gear box linkages for a L bug

hello....

just wondering if it is possible to get the gear box linkages that run from the gear stick to the box, out of the tunnel in a 74 L bug..... (without cutting it open.... ;) )

thanks

yes it isa possible you take out the gearstick and sthe flexible connector under the back seat then there should be a removableaccess hole in the front of the car under neath the bonnet take it out then push the linkage out throught he front. marcel:thumb

mmmmmm

hey I could be off on my own but does the L bug have an access hole in the front like the ball joint / King Pin pans ??
I can recall ever seeing one.
I have a 73 pan beside the shed I will check tonight but I am thinking that it hasn't.

Hi

They have a huge hole behind the deformation element to get the shift rod out.

Go to Tech Stuff - you will find a section on gear selector bush replacement. :thumb:thumb
