position of shift rod in tunnel


hi, remove the shifter [beetle] and expose the hole in the tunnel, u can c the shift rod with ball socket end, the shifter fits in, ? is when the car is in neutral, the socket in the tunnel should be sitting in the middle of the hole, thanks for your imput........greg
