why
Why does the price of petrol go up in the middle of every week at all service stations.???
Why doesn't it just stay the same price.??
there is nothing else that I buy that the Price changes every week , my can of coke stays the same price.

I've always believed it has nothing to do with anything else, but the fact it is usually mid week alot of motorists receive their
wages/salary/benefits. I am paid fortnightly and am personally guilty of filling the car up come 'pay day' It is just a rip off!
If it's not in a Vee Dub I'm not going!

I do enviro work for some large petrol stations and I can't do work on the sites on thursdays due to the price increase and increased traffic flow
due to pay day etc. I once talked to a senior guy on a friday at a servo and he said to me "The works need to be completed by wednesday night, on
thursday the price will go up 10cents and all the wages are getting used"
The part that bothers me is that the ACCC says there is no price fixing or collusion as it is all market based. How can it be market based when the
guy knows what the price is going to be next week.

Here in Noosa a few put their prices up on Thursdays as that's when the pensions are paid out but on Fridays the prices go back down again.I feel
that is so unethical, punishing the people who can least afford it I now make sure I never fill up at them. In fact I now mainly use a BP whose prices
stay constant week in week out and only vary when oil prices change and not depending on what day of the week it is.

We still find the petrol prices here pretty good!
Just before we left the UK i remember the petrol was about £1.20 per litre... thats $2.18. It might have been more actually..
It's currently at £1.08 there ($1.97)

Here's a better question. Why the hell is premium 10 cents a litre dearer?

yeah the price seems to be a bit high.
why is that E10 shit only 2cents cheaper then unleaded.
I still don't get why it goes up and down daily as they have
to pay for the fuel on delivery .so the 100000 litres in the tank shouldn't change it price as its already been payed for.

A lot of these sites are commissioned agents and get paid a set amount for every litre that they sell, the oil companies control the petrol price from
an area office and will as you say jack it up sometimes 2 or 3 times a day.Gees i am glad that Caltex turfed me out at the end of my tenure (even
though it cost me a lot of money)!
Most of the company reps were utter and complete a------,the 2 faced miserable creeps.
Sorry for the rant guys but this is just my experience. As for trying to understand pricing -Don't because there is no understanding as the oil
companies have the monopoly

With E10 you save 2 cents a litre, but your fuel efficiency will usually go down at least 15%.
In this environmentally aware age, that is just stupid!

Read the book THE PRIZE by Mario Puzzi(hard to belive but yes i read books!) its as thick as a phone book. All about oil etc it may dilute the muddy
waters somewhat. My sugestion is just buy fuel pay cash and always put $20.02 at least that way you get .02 cents for free and if every motorist did
this it would be a small win for us and don't buy anything except fuel no coke no chips etc i love to see them throwing out stock that is out of date
thats money down the drain for them!
