where is heater fan motor located


anyone know where the heater fan motor is located
in the type 3 i dont exactly know what it looks like or
where to find it

They don't have one (maybe later models do - 1972/73), they rely on the engine cooling fan to blow warm air into the cabin under the rear seat, and through pipes along the sills and up the A pillars to the windscreen for demisting

The little levers next to the handbrake are the 'switches'

its a '71 it has a fan switch on the dash and wiring going
offinto a mass of wiring ijust cant seem to see anything

It's inside the big black box with the air vent hoses coming out of it... normally known as the fresh-air box.

(big as in about 40 cm W x 15 cm D x 20cm H)

Type 3s only heater fan is the big one on the engine crankshaft!! The fan operated by the switch on the 71 model on only operates the fresh air fan. Nothing to do with the heater system.

Yeh! I got sick of Fords last year as well. Drove it into the back yard when I retired and left it there until I could get someone to come and take the unreliable EF thing away! Mind you it had 420,000 km on it with one torque converter bearing and one head gasket in all that time. :lol: I just got sick of driving it and needed a change.
