Other uses for T3 gearbox


Just wondering if these g'boxes can be transferred to earlier vw models... Say a beetle or type 3 and what dramas if any, also can digifant ecu and 2.1 F I set up be used for evil purposes on other models. Muchas Gracias
I meant to add that i have complete suspension, g'box and engine to raid parts from.

The gearboxes i believe are too wide for any use

Steve Carter had a 2.1 water cooled in his beetle
Originally with IDA's and later a turbo

Yes they are too wide to fit between the frame forks, so you'd have to cut those completely off. The nosecone is also longer, so you'd also have to cut away the front mounting area. Needless to say, this is a re-engineer of the entire rear end.

But yes the electrics and FI can be made to fit earlier engines, if you know what you are doing.
