Can you put low light extractors on type 1 motor by swaping J pipes?
Can you put low light extractors on type 1 motor by swaping J pipes?
Because the 68-72 kombis extractors bolt to J pipes instead of clamping on can you put extactors on type 1 motor by putting 68-72 kombi J pipes on the
type 1 beetle motor??

Hi Dylan
All extractors for 1300, 1500 & 1600 motors are interchangeable, J pipes didn't come stock on any VWs apart from industrial motors, country
buggies and 181s.

No Dylan, they should connect to the J's or heaterboxes the same way. One of your engines has been modified with what ever the flange that has been
fitted. This is usually a good mod as the slip joint very often leaks.

is there a difference on type 1 motors??? ,if the extractors bolt on with a flange it makes sense to have flanged j pipes which is a hell of a lot
better than the clamp on style

like matt said upright kombi engines have the exact same muffler system as bug but with only one tail pipe outlet
theres probably a difference in the muffler internally but all the heaterboxes, joints, clamps etc are the same
pretty much the only real difference between a late kombi 1600 and a bug is the carrier bar mounts and port for the brake booster
and obvious tinware/aircleaner swap
