I've seen some much rustier bugs (and all kinds of other cars) repaired in the UK. Welding up cars is just a part of life there because they all rust
so fast, even when they buy late '90s cars over there they more or less expect to have to weld on a few patches to the floor and some new inner
wheelarches. I just count myself lucky to live here in Australia where the cars rust slower!
