Introducing me, my self and my cars
Hey there,
I'am Dennis and live in Ridderkerk, The Netherlands (Europe).
My wife and I own:
a '68 Notch
a '70 Bay Window
and a '63 Beetle convertible
This October/November (2010) we are spending our holidays in Autralia for 5 weeks. Plans are to begin in Darwin, then Alice Springs, Cairns and then
drive along the coast to Sydney with a camper.
As Aircooled VW nuts we would like to know if there are any nice shows we can visit or if there are "must see" (VW) spots.
Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum.
Nice Cars esp the lowlight is that color sand green?
Mate 5 weeks for that trip I think you might want to do some research perhaps Cairns to Sydney 5 weeks but what you have planned and in a camper is
ambitious. Still what ever you do I am sure it will be a trip to remember good luck .And have a look at this site might help

Surely a big trip planned...enjoy.
I'm near Noosa Sunshine Coast, Queensland, so drop in for a Volksie chat on your way down the coast to Brisbane....Sydney, always a few interesting

Mate, I hope your lady can drive because I can't see you stopping for anything but fuel, you are being very ambitiouse, but whatever, if you have
never been to Oz then you will love the trip, you will certainly see a variety of landscape in the rout you have planed, although it may look a bit
blured.
If you come through Newcastle give me a call and I'll show you a few of the highlites.

Mate you will have a ball.
I would still suggest that you need more time. the Cairns to Sydney leg is 3000 klm much of it on shite roads almost no freeways many single laned
bridges lots of pot holes and kangaroos tro hit . in van its about 40 hours driving in good conditions.
This site might help. Mitchell

Yes we know its a haul but we don't have more time. We will be driving a modern VW camper so it is easier then a old bay.
Thanks Donn, can you PM me your number?
