Apparentley not. We spent 2 months searching and just got a secondhand one delivered yesterday from the Netherlands. Cost about $250 delivered and
was advertised on the samba.

Batwing Steering wheels are for pre Aug 55 Bugs
You need the later wheel type if the car is a 56, and you want the origional type wheel
You can get yours refurbish ( post to him ) in USA by Bob Koch in Lax but it will cost you at least $500.00 ++
I have had several wheels done by Bob and tehre really nice on the car
Let me know if u need the details

yep thats the correct one for a Aug 55 on Bug
the BATWING has the center spoke aligning at the hub in center not off set like above plus the spoke is wider and tapers to the outside

sods law has intervened.....
it seems that a previous owner has substituted a later steering column shaft which has a skinnier spline, as the spline on the steering wheel is a
couple mm too big for whats installed on our 1959 beetle ( oct 1958)
can anyone confirm that the spline size was larger on the 1950's beetles? And what year did they go smaller?
And has anyone got one that they can part with?
cheers.

indicator appears to be whats required, Its the 3 wire switch - non cancelling.
The car is a 1959 CKD Deluxe.
