What i$ the difference between a bu$ted valve and a thrown rod?
Hello sports fans, went for a brief spin round the block after routine oil change, tuning the carbies and doing the timing thing.
Warmed up nicely, idled fine, oil level good, sounded great!
I get about 800 gentle mtrs away from my house and engine gives a little flutter so i back off coming down hill (not steep just long) slow down to a
crawl in 2nd gear, engine levels out and sounds ok then i drive cautiously towards home and a rather nasty clunk and rattle starts so i kill ignition
and coast into driveway!
:-S any ideas?
please and
thank you in advance

Thanks fellas, yeah its ugly inside. I have stripped engines down before, i was alluding to costs as it is a valve at least and when i take the heads
off after work i think it will be a little more than a busted, burnt and trashed valve. How much are new head$ these days and barrell$ and piston$ ??
Cheers
