Scat belt system

Any one running a scat serpentine system on their bus? I was wondering if it's a worth while upgrade or is it just a waste of money. Some pics would be also good to see if you have one .

there really only for looks

Why replace the origional belt system its worked since 1938

I have seen a few done yes they do look good I think they put less strain on the genny or alt pully but it would be hard to determine

unless you had the 2 systems side by side and rang them till they broke

dont listen to birch, he's allergic to technology

theres a good reason that all cars stopped running Vbelts and changed to ribbed belts 20 years ago

I was of the beleife theyre for show only till i actually sussed one out

the main improvement they give is vibration reduction which leads to a less rattley and quiet vw engine and smoother idling

theyre not good for much other than that though other than looking pretty, they dont slip at high RPM like a vbelt does so if you have a big HP engine might wanna get a welded fan
