Gear Ratios

Hi
Does anyone know what the difference in the gear ratios are between a 1200 swing axle and a 1600 IRS bettle gearbox, are the gears closer on a IRS and which one is geared lower.
cheers

Someone must know which one is geared lower or is the difference un-noticable.

The 1200 is geared lower .Very noticeable in a buggy with big wheels. Kombi 1600 is the way to go .

depends on your motor size. 1200 will suffer more than a 1600 !

It is currently running a 1200 swing axle bos with a 1600 twin port, Im changing the box to a 1600 beetle IRS box.
Does the big wheels make the buggy slower or faster, gear ratios lower or higher.
cheers

the big wheels and 1600 box will mean the buggy will be slower, the motor will also rev lower to achieve the same speed, which is good for cruising on the freeway, not so good for "4WD" style of driving up rocks etc.
