Hope you are not the DH selling this

I saw this item on ebay and sent the seller a message trying to help him saying it wont fit all VW bugs as he states. I said it either fits king and link pin front end or ball joint front end.

He sent back a reply with attitude saying he was into VW's and new his stuff - NOT.

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=380220100953&ssPageName=ADME:X:eRTM:AU:1123

I'm not trying to start a fight, just pointing out that some people are just to narrow minded to except help (shit I hope I'm right).

Kev

HI kev

Yes I find many people on ebay don't know what they are selling...
You need to ask for photos...

which "most" people will do...

but many think they know all.... lol

cheers Kev

i used to sell quite alot on ebay, but i gotta say i buy alot more and this sort of s#*t really ticks me off.... i have had more than my share of these sort of sellers and i wish they would get a clue.... more arguments then i care to mention...... if you dont know what you are selling, try to be helpful and take constructive criticism.... iv only been on VW scene for 7 yrs, my background was holdens and chevs... but whenever i made a mistake, i thanked the person that pointed it out and corrected the listing.... this guy obviously has more ego then brains.....

hi. yea u can't put a ball joint beam on a king and link, and via versa cause of the frame head bolt pattern/distances....

Unless it has some universal capability, (if that even exists) then hes dreaming.

I just sent him a question asking him whether it is link pin or ball joint. The more people that ask the question, may be he may think again. The only way to stop this bullshit is do something. Well done Camo.

In defence of the the seller (who is actually a nice old bloke who loves VWs) he only really deals with early cars so probably isnt aware the balljoint beams are on different frame heads so im sure its not intentionally misleading

I've bought stuff off him before, he loves a good yarn and has an impressive build up of parts and cars, he had a nice LHD splitty in the garage last time i was there

Joel,

Glad to hear what you said and I have a soft spot for older people, but I was actually trying to help this seller by informing him there is a difference. As I said in my first post, I was "just pointing out that some people are just to narrow minded to except help". No harm intended towards your friend, just abroad statement.

The title "Hope you are not the dick head selling this" is a tad harsh then!?

I hear what your saying, 99% of ebay sellers are usually appreciative of help/infomation but theres always the one or two that dont

classic example was a guy in syd selling a bug a few weeks ago
it had clearly been owned prior by a young wannabe boy racers who had plastered the car with checkerplate, astro turf, racing stripes etc

and was probbaly a motorbike tinkerer and thought pffft these aircooled motors dont need no stinking tinware

i could so see some person buying there first project bug and getting it half way home (was actually reg'd like this) before it self destructed on the side of the motorway or the $2 fuel filter above the dissy igniting from the heat

seller couldnt give a shit, classic old caveat emptor in play

No off roader would want an alloy beam in a baja, only good for a very light sand rail or light drag car, not street or HEAVY cars !!! Ball joint ok for mild offroaders.

Modified king and link are capable of more travel than ball joint, that's why the serious offroaders like them

There is another problem.

Heim ball joints are not legal in suspensions, including steering in Australia.

I don't do this ebay stuff. Will someone please point that out to him.
