WTB - WA - Wheels

Seller's Name – Ken & Jenny
Suburb / Post Code – Manjimup WA, 6258
Condition - Roadworthy

We are desperately looking for two 4-stud wheels with roadworthy tyres that we need at latest this weekend. Either to buy or rent for two days.

Been trying to register our L-bug in WA but only problem is that we have different rim size in the back and the front, which the inspector does not approve of.

Please help out a fellow dubber. We're leaving Australia in little more than two weeks and need to get it registered and sold until then. We are truly interested in whatever you have!

We don't mind driving a fair distance since all we want is to get this fixed. All our previous attempts have failed so far. :fakesniff:

The car is sold so we are no longer looking for wheels!

Maybe you should tell your inspector that it is legal to have the wheel diameters one inch smaller or larger than stock.

As I understand the Australian Design Rules you car is road legal and that is all that matters.

The inspector's opinion is not relevent. What matters is, "Is it legal." I believe that it is legal.

PS Im not a lawyer, but I'm a damn good bush lawyer.

I had the same problem once before at the pits 15s in the back 14s in the front no go
either 14s all round or 15s all round he said.....
but i guess it always depends on wht they feel like on the day and if they like the colour of your car......

Yeah you are right. I've browsed through the Australian Design Rules as well. What he doesn't like though is that I have mixed sizes, 15s in the front and 14s in the rear.

I haven't been able to find any certain info regarding this in the ADR so I e-mailed the Department of Transport over a week ago. No answer yet.

So true. I think it is a silly thing to complain about. What should be important is that the tyres and rims are in good shape.

We are still looking for wheels though. Leaving Australia in less than 3 weeks time and before that we need to get it registered and sold.

Man, this is crazy!

A "standard" Lotus Elise comes equipped with 16 inch (F) and 17 ich (R).
What does the inspector do, when he looks over a 2005 Elise?!

Ken, good luck!

Hey zayus!

It truly is crazy especially since he did not mind if the tyres stuck out from underneath the guards and he didn't care if there were four different tyre threads on the car. It was only the rim size.

Well well, we sold the car yesterday to a VW fanatic unregistered so that's great! Herman the German will be in good hands. :)
