This is interesting to me in the fact the vehicle is in the UK but the ad was placed by someone in California, Santa Rosa to be exact.
The ad poster might be serving in some capacity as a sales broker or someone familiar with importing vehicles.
I'm not saying this CB doesn't have worth, but given it's condition....shall we say rough at best, and its listed price of $11,000 USD ($11,839
AUD, 7,157 GBP), I'd say someone is dreaming big time or been on a real binge.
By the time someone would import this vehicle to the US, they would have at least another $4,000 USD in it or 4,305 AUD.
There's no way I could justify purchasing this CB. I doubt if few others could justify it either.
There are a couple of examples here in the US which have been completely restored and would be much better examples to throw one's money at, if they
were for sale.
Also given the general state of the economy here in Obama Nation, the expendable income of most folks has shrunk significantly, if not disappeared
entirely through massive job loses. If the owner and/or the broker hope to peddle this to the US market, they would be better off flying to Vegas for
the weekend hoping to hit the big jackpot.
I'm betting this CB is going to stay right in GB.......and it may not change hands there either.
Just one man's opinion.....

Steve

Steve,
I tend to agree with you on this one. The vehicle has been on sale in the UK since it first appeared at the VW show in the middle of last year but has
failed to attract a buyer even with the replacement ( and downgraded ) motor.
CBs handling was akin to a dog on a lino floor so I could imagine how much worse this vehicle must be.
It is certainly unique and a one off and I guess somewhere ,sometime there will be buyer.

Also not the first slammed CB in existence. Looks like the poms have been looking over our back fence for other ideas too.

Absolutely.
I have to admit, it is a shame that it has been hacked about so much but then it was very rough to begin with.
Having poured over this vehicle in fine detail the other week, i can say that the work done is very extensive and has been done well.
The chassis is in mint condition but is not the original chassis or running gear. The engine is not original either.
It is however a damn cool (and rather mad) vehicle and people in the UK love it. I'm quite shocked that it has not sold but then again it's not road
legal at the moment, it's highly impractical and it is priced a bit on the high side. I imagine however that Ben is really looking to sell it over
here and not looking to export it but as anyone would agree, it's good to keep it as an option.
I was chatting to him the other week while he was pricing it up and he came to his price by considering the rarity, the work done, the cost of the
parts used in the rebuild, the cost of the car, the time spent working on it and also the import cost.
I'm just glad i got mine at a bargain price and already in the country.

I found some more pics of this CB here:

This thing is even rougher than I thought....
Note how the rear wheel wells have been modified.
