Old splitty kombi ute on ebay

Hi All, There was splitty ute in Geelong on ebay. bidding started at $350, so I went and had a look sunday morning, I was gob smacked!! this thing was totally rusted out, basically nothing left of it, even the left rear quarter just wasnt there, only good parts were one pretty good door, even though someone had cut the hing base out of it, the other door was sad and also had the bases cut out and it still had the gear box & reduction hubs, I told the bloke that if no one bid on it, I'd be prepared to pay $200 he told me that it went for 400 but had a non paying bidder and I could clearly see why, anywayz, it the bidding ended last night and it went for $760 !! I feel sorry for who ever bought it!! the seller even mentioned on his ebay add that it could be restored by the right person? I hope they only wanted the doors & tranny other wise they are in for a big shock, item number 320512591400

The pics on ebay only show the best of the ute, he doesnt show the damaged & missing left rear quarter, when I first looked at the pics, I thought, yeah get the mig happeneing no dramas!! but wow, in real life "do not pass go, do not collect $200, how true these words from the game monoply are !! I would be surprised if this ute leaves his premises, will pass by a few times as its visible from the road.

I saw this on ebay too, and yes, it's in a bit of a state admittedly!
I guess it's a shock for you to see it go for so much when you offered so little, but i guess it's "worth" as much as someone is prepared to pay for it, which in this case is $760.
It might be another case of being an unpaid item again though, as i reckon the first winner of this probably thought it was better than it was and drove past, saw it, and carried on driving....that's Ebay for you.

i think most people just buy old cars so that they can invite their mates around to drink beer and just talk about what they are gunna do with the rusted out old car:lol::crazy::lol:

:lol::crazy::lol::crazy::lol:
car forums. where a lot of peoples good intentions end up taking a good old car off the road forever never ever to see the road again. :fakesniff:
