Rubber kits

I have been slowly working on my beetle and have noticed that after nearly 50 all the seals in the car have perished.
I have seen lots of places on the net selling individual seals, but I have been wondering whether anyone sells a kit with all the seals for the entire car in it?

Cheers

I don't know of anyone selling ALL the rubber seals as they were different in different years...

You can usually get the 4 window rubbers in a set...
If You are looking at USA made rubbers... good quality.. but
remember --

German made beetles had the Large window rubbers back in 1965 VW year model [1st August 1964 to 31st July 1965]
and door rubbers for 1965-66-67 are different in the doors..

VW doors have 6 seperate rubber/trim parts.. [from memory]
this includes scrapers and glass felts or runners..

Plus the door rubber itself...

all seperate as far as i know...

Best to get the best rubbers you can afford...

The door rubber seal can be a cheap one as they are easy to replace... lots of variations in quality there too...

But We are Lucky....
The Sun kills our rubber parts....
but in the UK Europe and North America & Canada , Salt is added to the roads when they are Icy... and the Salt eats cars away... much faster than the sun....
but their rubbers last forever... lol

The seals are for a 61 or 62 beetle.
I was looking at wcm seals because from what I've been told they are similar quality to the original German items.
I thought someone might put a kit together that would be cheaper than buying them all individually.
I also wanted to get it all together so when it came to reassembly i wouldn't have to wait some some small seal i forgot to order.

YOU just need to remember where You put Your spares.. lol

there are some original parts from My 68 Beetle that I have never found after stripping it bare..

there are'nt many rubbers that will last as long as the originals
Wolfsburg Automotive in Victoria make their own rubbers and the quality is excellent..

With the Aussie Dollar up, You can buy great USA made rubbers from many VW shops over there...
just check on the freight costs...

evw- aircooled.com - CIP1 rubbers are great but freight costs too high.. I wouldn't bother with WCM rubbers...

its very difficult to know what rubbers You are buying in Australia... I have seen some good Brazillian parts... but as they aren't branded.. its next to impossible to buy them again
VW do Brasil parts aren't as good as German parts either..

keep away from BFY they have a very bad reputation in the USA..

I bought all My restoration bits from all over...lol
swap meets - ebay Aust & USA- Shops Aust & USA.

it would be great if an aussie shop could advertise He sold good quality Brasillian brand goods...

Brasillian or Mexican tail lamp lenses are rubbish...
German or USA made acylic are good..

and Yes some small seals are hard to find.. lol

cheers

I didn't realise that rubbers that Wolfsburg Automotive advertise were there own brand.
It's a shame they don't have a website, I'll have to give them a call to see if they have a price list
I would prefer to source them locally if possible because I would find too many other bits and pieces that don't need but want on all those US sites.
Is there any particular reason not to go with wcm seals? price? quality?
I Think I started this project too early I'm not old enough to be patient enough to collect parts for a build over years
