re - rubbish
I hate these with a passion
Use the following rules
1) do not use the fibre rings. Only use the wire mesh ones
2) thow the the bolts away and use high tensile ones
3) spread the clamps out so as they can bite down more
4) the important one - throw the clamps away and spend a few more $$$ and get a flange kit put on. That way you will NEVER have a nother leak / loose
connection / stinky heat / back fire / ..............

EVERYONE ON HERE WILL KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT...LOL
the idea may have been great in the 40s and 50s...
but flanges should have been introduced in the 60's or 70s...
one of the upgrades VW should have done...
I switched to flanges ages ago...
no more leaky exhausts...

Dont forget that the clamps on the kits you buy now are also junk, you start doing up the nut and bolt and instead of squeezing it down the clamps
just bend out of shape.
