The notch looks great - I'd love to have one for my next project. Like you I'm getting by on a tiny to non existent budget.

It is satisfying when you get a job done though - you just have to make that satisfaction last and savor it between work you get done.

You sure have your work cut out for you body wise, it will look great when done though just take your time.
On the plus side you seem to have scored a decent interior which is good if you are financially challenged. The interior of my square is rooted, I bought a full TMI interior quickly while we still had funds from the house refinance, lucky I did as it was the sort of money I don't normally have.

Have you gotten much further with it lately?

Most of the rust work on the outside is done excluding the sills. Numerous dents are fixed. And panels roof boot and engine bay are all primed. Shouldn't be too long before paint(handy having a father who was a panebeater for probably 30 yearsand also a tafe teacher for panelbeating, knew he come in handy some day:lol:). Still have to get my mind around paint colour goin to do it two tone but not sure yet what two colours. Would love to do in metalic acrylic but dad's doin it at home and not too confident painting metalic. Then the expensive stuff starts like floorpans, dash pad, fix brakes new chrome and rubbers.

Sounds like you have made some great progress - all that in a month - well done!

It has taken me over a year, and mine did not need the same amount of attention as yours.

Brakes shouldn't be a big thing - as long as you have the drums and backing plates, the rest should be fairly inexpensive (as far as replacement costs go).

I got all four brake cylinders, hoses and shoes for all wheels for $100 from Classic Vee Dubs a while back - just keep your eyes on their specials every week.

thanx but have decided to go with a
two tone paint job of birch green and pearl white.
Did jim's car go to the states thought I saw it on
an american sight maybe the samba can't remember,
looks nowhere near as good though. This was the notch
I saw on Ebay and decided I had to have one.
