Farm Find! 74 bay

I picked up this 74 bay today from a farm in Cessnock, it was free.
It started second go after fitting a new battery and some fresh petty not bad after 7 years of sitting in a paddock
I am wanting to pull out the beam and use it in my split (can this be done)
I will keep the engine, front beam and rear hubs and Wheels
The rest is for sale
I have had a 74 before but mine had vent windows or flipper windows or whatever
this one has full panel glass which is unusual to me
anyway let me know if you would like anything the body and interior is pretty much worthless and the bull bar is not VW it has a towbar
car is in Leichardt Sydney NSW

another interesting thing with this bay It has an upright twin port motor with H prefix
the engine bay is a flat style and there is extra tinware to fill the void all looks stock to me
is this a cross over model or has a different engine been fitted

here is the chassis no

T1 engines were an option in Australia. More common in Europe. I'm sure there will be someone who wants the tinware to fit a T1 to a T4.

I am after the sliding door lock barrel if it's in one piece.

It will be a novelty to be able to open the sliding door without leaning through the passenger door! Oh well, things have looked up since I fitted a lock barrel to the drivers side and now don't have to get in the passenger's side!:lol:

A '74 beam can be made to fit, but is a lot of frigging around, drilling holes and clearancing, pod is right a '68 beam is better, and a straight bolt in.

in '74 VW was selling heaps of Kombi's, there was about a 3 month wait for an 1800 bus, you could buy a 1600 straight away.
