Porsche wheel spacers ( not Adapters )


Looking to fit wheels spacers on a late type3 , converting to Porsche 130 stud pattern .Fitting 928 porsche 16dia by 8inch , 225mm by 50 dia on back .
I think studs from behide are best for strength so who sell spacers (8mm to 14mm) to fit vw drums , studs , wheel nuts
May try to make enclosed ended nuts to fit.
Thought this would be a good topic , who has used them ?

PS , I am using new disc on front and new flanges on rear all made in porsche stud Pattern , this a tech section for people to pick up how to do things !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

spacers are illegal for rego purposes.

well, if you dont really care, just get discs/drums redrilled.

Pete - in the past I've gotten both studs and spacers through Performance 9 down in Victoria... always found Stan a good bloke to deal with.

MATE !!! read my post !!! I didn't mention anything about wheel adapters , I'm sure people have more open views then Barls , plus In qld I"m fairly sure you can get them blue tag for rego here . Maybe they have a thickness minimum.

Hi

I bought some thin ones from Nice Products, no issues, I used them on a 1972 1300 with Cookies. I fitted longer studs to compensate for the spacers.

Nice don't seem to list them for a Porsche but I did buy them form them.

im fairly sure that all states in Australia go by the adr's ie the australian design rules or is qld not part of Australia.
you can get them engineered but the hard part is finding an engineer thats willing to put his name to it.
also i didnt mention wheel adaptors ether which are also illegal unless engineered.
so pull your head in.

It's interesting how Porsche use longer wheel bolts , even with very think spacers . I know the vw parts ( disc , drums , and type 3 flangers ) may not have the strength as them . They all so use a step or spigot to locate it .

Hi

The really thick Porsche ones have another set of studs in them, they bolt on using stock nuts & bolts.

On my old bug I used some 1/2 spacers that I had made, they were made from aluminium round bar about 40 or 50 mm od with a 14 mm hole in the middle. I gave them to another AVD member and he's been running them for years with no issues.

The ones I use are factory Porsche 944...a cast alloy job that slides over and locates securely onto the hub, and also has the lip for the wheel to locate onto.

About 21mm I think, and interestingly they have a 411 part number. From what I've seen it's only 25mm or larger where Porsche used the extra stud type - presumably since it needs pretty thick material to take the load.

I need to change wheels over on Jezebel tonite ready for QHC, so can grab a pic of mine then.
