Later Beetle Rear Drums on a 54 Pan, What to do for Handbrake Cables

Hi,

I am putting later rear drums on a 54 pan and currenlty the handbrake cables come out the rear of the backing plates, the new brake set up will have the handbrake cable coming out of the forward side of the backing plates.

So what do I do for Handbrake Cables as the 54 pan has the handbrake adjusters at the front beam???

Anyone solved this solution previously? Do I use the conduit from a 58 to 70 Beetle handbrake cable and then get new cables made up to suit???

Cheers,

David

You can get cables made to order contact Vintage you have to know the length required

However i would get a hand brake tunnel section from a later model bug and cut and weld it it to the old pan you will have to play with a set of new cables to get the right position and cable guide tubes inside the floor tunnel

unless you dont want to change the pan that is
