IRS flange seal question
Hi,
Just getting an L bug IRS gearbox (AT code), and noticed the seals inside the flanges look to be broken. I have an S bug box as well, and that has
nice plastic covers inside the output flanges. Are these needed? Do they stop geabox oil leaking there or something?
Thanks
Steve

Yes, those seals keep the trans oil in. Can bodge with silicone only as a tempory fix but the seals are easily fitted using a large drift the correct
size (a large socket will do).

Hi Steve
As Birchall always says, Vintage have them, I bought them from him not long ago, most VW shops would have them.
