Borrow 68 beetle front seats and wheels
Hi all, my father restored a 68 beetle up in QLD and has moved down to Wentworth Falls in Sydney and got knocked back from blue slip because the
wheels are too wide for the guards and it has the wrong seats.
We're hoping someone on the boards here can lend us some front seats for a 68 beetle and some wheels with rego worthy rubber for the blue slip
inspection and then we'll return them.
Of course a refundable deposit can be left with you and a case of beer dropped off afterwards.
Happy to pick up the seats and wheels around Sydney.
Please contact Steven (my father) on 0419 258 438 or PM or reply to me here.

I hope someone can help you mate, but you really should consider at least buying some narrower front wheels which will be legal. Stock wheels are
worth next to nothing and will at least get you through the inspection. As much as the rules are a pain, they are there to keep us all safe. Swapping
parts for inspections does happen all the time though, I believe that there is a shop in Sydney which rents out stock Harley exhausts by the day!

The back wheels are a little too wide for the guards due to the camber. His going to loft the rear a little to sort that out. I've already told him
lift it up and just replace the seats so he won't have any drams later on.
The guy at the slipping station was pretty good about it all.
I've put a wanted post for some seats so we'll see how we go.
He kept his original exhuast on his Harley for inspections, turns out he didn't need it.

I have some rims you can have for free if you want, they have tyres but i think two of them are not legal due to camber wear, that is if the bolt
pattern is 4x130.
Pm me if you want them.

Some of us still have scruples,i have been put in this situation once and i think it is unfair that you would put some one else in this position .Why
not just make the vehicle roadworthy or leave it in the shed.
